Bottled wine, means quality!

Although the origins of wine are so old that they melt into the legends of time, it is during the 19th century that wine consolidated its distinctive and extraordinary position among the civilisations of the world.

Traditionally wine was conserved and worked in carboys or demijohns.
The use of glass bottles with corks was only used for wine of a superior quality, also because this was how countries abroad requested it.

Above all, bottles could also be labelled in order to allow a more certain and precise identification of the wine both with regards to its origin, quality and type based on the year and origin of the vineyard.

Our “Casleng” also has ancient origins. This has been demonstrated by the discovery of an old bottle dated 1904. It is, however, certain that the origin of this wine was previous to this date proving that our wine was (io metterei has always been) a product of prestige and was sold outside local boundaries even at that period in time.




HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS OF CASCINA PREZIOSA

The Napoleonic map dated 1806 of Castellengo image, it comes down Topographic Maps for A and B, preserved in the Archives of State of Turin. You can see the exact location of Cascina Preziosa and its surrounding vineyards, dating back to a time before dating from around 1700.
